it wont let me use on mac :(

I'm on Linux and a lot of if isn't working right. I'm on Linux Mint 20.3 and using the proprietary nvidia driver. I got stuck at the captcha because it wasn't letting me select the panels.

I then went and watched a lets play and found out there was supposed to be something playing on the screen when you enter the neuraverse. I neither saw nor heard the stuff that plays on entering.

I did see the maze and the jumping puzzle correctly, and the blur effect worked, so some of it does work correctly.

Given the thematic relevance, I'm unsure if this is a bug or expected behavior, but I also couldn't exit the game without tabbing out and closing the window.

Great concept, by the way! I'm afraid you're preaching to the choir, but there's a lot to be concerned about just looking at current social media practices and how they affect people, not even considering how much worse it could get.

Thanks for pointing out the issues on Linux! I will disable Linux downloads, since you're not the first one to point out these issues exclusive to Linux.

Unfortunately there isn't really anything in particular I can do to fix them because Unity is responsible for compiling the project for various OSes, and the only ones that I can test are MacOS and Windows anyways. The only thing I can try is to upgrade my Unity compiler.

Thanks again for your help, and I'm glad you still enjoyed the game and the idea despite the issues you faced! 😊

Makes sense! Thanks for the response!

It's like participating in my biggest nightmares of the future...

I loved it.  Great game, I look forward to seeing what other projects you create in the future!

Thanks for sharing it with all of us 😁

It's a really interesting (and unsettling) concept! But, is there any way to turn on subtitles? The bulk of instructions are pure audio otherwise. Don't know if that was intended to make a point or if I'm just missing something....

No, you're right actually. I think it would be helpful to have subtitles. There wasn't a point you missed or anything, I just didn't feel like they were 100% necessary at the time (I had a tight time window to get this game done)

I am really glad you enjoyed the concept though! Thank you for playing 😊

Gave it a Let's Play and my feedback

Thank you so much for playing my game!!! I am so glad you enjoyed the experience πŸ₯³ I really enjoyed watching this video and hearing your commentary too! You had a lot of great things to say πŸ˜Š So thank you again. It means a lot to me!

is there any way to run this in a window and not full screen. its a great game btw.

Thank you! 😊 As for running it in a window... I am not sure.  The Unity game-engine automatically sets the game to a fullscreen view, and unless there is a way to change the state of the window via your computer settings, then I think you will have to be in fullscreen automatically. Sorry if it's an inconvenience πŸ˜•

Thank you so much! I'm glad you appreciated the message behind the game and the experience as a whole. Also yes, I genuinely agree that it sounds like a plan that big corporations might have!

The images are mostly sourced from a strange website (that sourced these images from all over the web): https://yyyyyyy.info

This website was actually a big source of inspiration for my game. One of my goals was to turn this weirdest website ever into a 3D game experience.

Once again, I'm glad you enjoyed the game! 😊 Thanks for playing! πŸŽ‰

I really enjoyed this. It's a really good commentary on where we're headed with ads and the metaverse as a whole. Here's my gameplay:

That was quite the trippy game. It had a good message about spending too much time on the web and commercialism (at least that's how I thought of it). Great game!

That's definitely one of the most accurate interpretations someone could have. Thank you so much for making a video about my game!!! I loved watching you play, and I am so happy that you enjoyed it and thought that it was interesting and worth your time! 😁

The game is good, but the eyes look very uncomfortable

That is the sad reality of the metaverse πŸ˜” I am so glad you enjoyed my game though!!! Thanks a million for playing it! 😊

thank you

Despite the gameplay and graphics being simple, the load that this game has in terms of narrative and messages is huge, and that's what I liked about Hypercontentica. It's an interesting experience. Congratulations for your work.

Many years ago a

theorist named Baudrillard said we are bombarded with 10,000 images a day. He never could have predicted how much that number would grow thanks to the internet.

I agree hahaha. Thanks for playing my game! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

One more thing: I especially loved listening to all of your theories about the game! Once again, I highly appreciate your comments and gameplay video! It was so fun to watch someone play my game from a new perspective. Thanks again for everything :)

Hi there, I am DragonExplosion and I am a Youtuber. If you like my videos, please leave a like and subscribe at my channel.

This was a cool horror game that features a lot and a lot of flashing lights and imagery. I liked the design of the "coffin-like-vr" machine that brings the main character into another world. The concept of the game really stood out where the main character continously enters the virtual reality universe just to experience the feeling of going to an actual beach when he can actually choose to head outside to a real beach. The game also shows how human beings constantly head to the online universe to look at random things while constantly being exposed to advertisements all the time.

The three levels were all really cool and difficult but for me, the second level was the most difficult one. I liked the part where there was someone calling the main character from outside his room as it really shows how humans can be so engrossed with whats going on on a computer, phone, virtual reality etc without noticing that they have been neglecting their physical health and their parents etc.

Even though the constant flashing of lights were really uncomfortable to the eyes, I liked the idea of the game and how it was executed. It would be better if there was an ending to the game and a moment with the main character's loved ones.

Thank you for reading my comment and I wish you good luck in your future endeavours.

Hey! Thanks for playing my game. There was an ending, but you did not turn your camera around when things went dark! You were still in the game at that point! The game has been updated to have the walls show more clearly so that you know you're still in the game. Your game data is saved, so you could still see the ending if you'd like!

Oh man, I actually did turn around while I was playing it. Surprisingly, I did not catch it when I played it for the 1st and 2nd try XD. I will make another video as a part 2 to show the ending of the game. Thank you so much for telling me what I had missed out!!!

No problem! Thanks for wanting to make a part 2! I also just released a quick update that made the walls gray instead of black! I wouldn't want any other players to get confused XD
